The Settlement camping area, Springbrook National Park

The only camping area in Springbrook National Park, off Carricks Road near the Springbrook Public Hall and reached by conventional vehicle. There are 11 well-defined sites for tents, camper trailers and campervans (not caravans), each about 10 m x 4.2 m with its own parking bay. Facilities are toilets, drinking water and a cooking shelter with free electric barbecues; there are no showers or rubbish bins. A short track leads to the top of Purling Brook Falls and links to the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk, and The Settlement picnic area nearby has a large open recreation area. Open fires and generators are not allowed. Advance bookings are essential; Queensland Parks camping permits cost $7.75 per person per night or $31 per family per night, and children under 5 camp free.
