Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens

Last updated October 2026

Volunteer-run botanic gardens on Tamborine Mountain in the Gold Coast hinterland, about 25 minutes from the M1 at Oxenford. A lake is the centrepiece, with a Japanese garden, a rainforest walk and many themed gardens such as roses, camellias and bromeliads. The gardens say walking is easy-going and distances are short, except the 150-metre Rainforest Walk. Families are invited to bring a picnic and the children, and a free visitor app includes an I Spy game and a birdwatching activity. Facilities include toilets with a disabled toilet, a covered pavilion and picnic seats; there are no barbecues, and dogs, bikes and ball games are not allowed. Entry is free (donations welcome); open every day from dawn to dusk.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
