Sydney Fish Market
Last updated October 2026
Sydney's big waterfront seafood market at Blackwattle Bay, Glebe, with fish stalls, waterfront eateries, tours and a cooking school. Open daily 7am-10pm.
Sydney Fish Market is Australia's main seafood market, now in its new building on the water's edge at Blackwattle Bay in Glebe. Families can wander the seafood and fresh produce stalls, see a huge range of Australian fish and shellfish, and eat at the waterfront restaurants, cafes and quick-eat counters. Entry to the market is free, and it is open daily from 7am to 10pm, though each shop sets its own hours (as of October 2026). Guided tours with seafood educators show how the market and the morning auction work; private tours can be arranged for families and school groups. The Sydney Seafood School on site runs cooking classes and demonstrations. The market has step-free access via ramps and lifts, accessible toilets and a Changing Places bathroom. The L1 light rail stops at Wentworth Park (400 m), Glebe and Bank Street, and buses 389 and 501 stop on Harris Street. There is a paid car park, with free parking on weekdays if you enter after 3pm and leave by 5pm.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
