Volunteer-run miniature railway in Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside: runs the third Sunday of each month, 10am-3pm; $4 tickets on the day.

Nurragingy Miniature Railway is run by North Western Model Engineers Inc., a not-for-profit club, inside Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside. The club built the railway to be family oriented and inclusive, opening the first stage in November 2019 and the full line in April 2023. Tickets are sold onsite on the day for $4 per person, and every passenger needs a ticket regardless of age, as of October 2026. Children under 3 must be with a paying adult. All passengers must wear fully enclosed footwear and stay seated while riding. The railway cannot be seen from the road: enter via Knox Road, park at the Currawong Picnic Area and follow the bike path past the Magpie Picnic Area towards the Cockatoo Picnic Area, or enter via Woodstock Avenue and park at the Boronia Picnic Area. Public running days are on the third Sunday of each month from 10am to 3pm, weather permitting; the club confirms each date on its Facebook page (as of October 2026).
