Stirling Miniature Railway is run by the Northern Districts Model Engineering Society, a model engineering club at Vasto Place, Balcatta; members build the miniature trains. The club holds public run days on the last Sunday of every month except December, when families can ride the miniature trains. Everyone entering needs a ticket bought online through TryBooking, whether or not they ride, and the club says events often sell out. A ticket covers unlimited train rides and use of the picnic grounds and kiosk on the day. Cancellations more than 48 hours before a run day are refunded. Everyone except babies in arms must wear closed-in shoes such as track shoes. The club describes itself as family and disability friendly. For parties, a rotunda can be booked online (10 tickets minimum) and tables can be reserved through the booking manager. Ticket prices are not published on the website.
