Gondola cableway over the rainforest from Smithfield, near Cairns, to Kuranda; one way $37 per child (4-14), infants free.

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is a 7.5km gondola ride above the rainforest canopy between Smithfield, 15 minutes north of Cairns, and Kuranda, with stops at Red Peak and Barron Falls to walk rainforest boardwalks and lookouts. The Smithfield terminal is at 6 Skyrail Drive with free parking. A one-way trip takes about 1.5 hours including the stops. As of October 2026, one way costs $74 per adult and $37 per child, and a return trip $111 and $55.50; a child is 4 to 14, and infants 0 to 3 travel free but still need a ticket. Advance booking and payment are required, and children 14 and under must be with an adult. Folding prams can go in the gondola. Due to upgrade works until 1 November 2026, Skyrail is running only a Kuranda to Barron Falls loop, Wednesday to Sunday, with limited times.
