Solar Whisper Daintree River Crocodile and Wildlife Cruise

Solar Whisper is a small, family-operated solar electric boat that quietly cruises the Daintree River looking for saltwater crocodiles and other wildlife such as snakes, frogs, bats, crabs, fish and birds. A guide points out animals, helped by an on-board 'croc cam'. One-hour cruises leave at 9:30am, 10:45am, 11:45am, 12:45pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm from behind the ticket office at 315B Cape Tribulation Road, Lower Daintree, 400 m before the car ferry, about 1.5 hours' drive from Cairns. Prices are $35 adults, $19 children aged 5 to 15, under 5s free, $90 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Crocodiles are harder to see in summer; if none are spotted you can come back free. The boat has a roof but no toilets; there is an amenities block next to the office.
