The Red Arrow is a 1.3 km walking circuit in Mount Whitfield Conservation Park, behind the Cairns Botanic Gardens on Collins Avenue, Edge Hill. Cairns Regional Council describes it as a free recreational resource that attracts thousands of walkers and runners each week, with views across Trinity Inlet, the Coral Sea and Cairns city. The track reopened on 6 March 2026 after a $1.2 million renewal in which ageing steps and path sections on the eastern side were replaced with natural stone stairs, lower entrance sections and the upper eastern section were resurfaced, new pedestrian bridges were installed, and bench seats and lookout shelters were replaced. The 300-hectare park also has the Blue, Green and Yellow Arrow tracks through rainforest, eucalyptus and grassland. Council publishes a Mount Whitfield walking track brochure and map as a PDF. No age guidance or opening hours are stated.
