Piccabeen walk, The Gantry (D'Aguilar National Park)

Last updated October 2026

A 1 km circuit trail and boardwalk through eucalypt forest and subtropical rainforest with piccabeen palm groves and tall Sydney blue gums, in the Mount Mee section of D'Aguilar National Park, about 70 km from Brisbane. Queensland Parks grades it a Grade 2 walking track and suggests allowing 30 minutes. In summer and autumn watch for king parrots feeding on the palms' red berries. The walk begins opposite The Gantry day-use area, the remains of a timber sawmill that ran until 1981, which has free electric barbecues, picnic tables, flush toilets and a grassy picnic area. The road from Dayboro to The Gantry is suitable for 2WD cars; the walk itself has no wheelchair access.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
