Myall Lakes National Park
Last updated October 2026
Myall Lakes National Park, north of Newcastle near Hawks Nest and Bulahdelah, has one of the state's largest coastal lake systems, good for canoeing, kayaking, boating and fishing, and more than 40 km of beaches. There are many campgrounds for tents, trailers, caravans and boats, including Mungo Brush near Hawks Nest, and heritage accommodation at Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse. Short walks include the easy 1.5 km Mungo Rainforest walk. At the Grandis picnic area north-east of Bulahdelah you can see The Grandis, a 76 m flooded gum that is one of the tallest trees in NSW. Park entry is $8 per vehicle per day (pay machine at Mungo Brush or Park'nPay app), and Bombah Point ferry fees may also apply (cash only). The park is always open but may close in poor weather or fire danger.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
