Little Nicholson Street Play Centre is a not-for-profit, member-run play centre for children aged 0 to 5 at 13 Union Street, East Balmain, directly behind the East Village Pub. It is fenced, with covered areas for wet weather, a large sandpit, swings, slides, indoor and outdoor play areas, toys and dress-ups, a painting studio, baby change facilities and a kitchenette. There are no staff, so members unlock, lock up and pack up the centre. Access is for members and pass holders only. As of October 2026 a day pass is $12.50 per family, a 5-visit pass (valid 3 months) is $50, and memberships are $160 for 12 months or $240 for 24 months. It is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, and not on public holidays. Members can hire it for parties on most Saturdays.
