Volunteer surf life saving club at Killcare Beach on the Central Coast. Killcare Nippers takes children through a structured program from 5 years old to 13 years old, teaching beach safety and how to help keep other beachgoers safe; competition is optional. Nippers runs every Sunday, rain, hail or shine, at Putty and Killcare beaches, in line with patrol start times. The 2026/27 season starts with preliminary swim evaluations on 11 October, breaks after 13 December, resumes 24 January and finishes with a presentation party on 14 March. Each nipper membership needs a parent or guardian associate membership; Active Kids vouchers can be used. Older nippers can move on to the Surf Rescue Certificate and Bronze Medallion.
