Darwin Waterfront on Kitchener Drive with a wave lagoon (under 15s $8), a free swimming beach lagoon and a playground for ages 2-8.

Darwin Waterfront Precinct on Kitchener Drive has several family attractions. The Wave Lagoon is a 4,000 square metre stinger- and crocodile-free lagoon with 10 wave patterns up to 1.2 metres, a shallow play area for younger children, lifeguards and tubes. As of October 2026 entry is free for under 3s, $8 for under 15s, $10 for 15 and over, and $29 for a family (2 adults and 3 children). The kiosk is open 10am to 6pm daily. The Beach is a free saltwater recreation lagoon with sand, patrolled by lifeguards and separated from the harbour by a seawall. The shaded rope playground is for ages 2 to 8, and shoes must be worn. The ticketed Aqua Park has a minimum age of 6. Lagoons are evacuated during lightning storms, which are common from October to April. A pedestrian bridge and lift link the precinct to Smith Street.
