Surf life saving club based at 135 Williams Esplanade, Palm Cove, on Cairns' northern beaches. Nippers (Junior Activities) is for children aged 5 to 13: every Sunday morning during the season kids meet at Palm Cove Beach from 9:30am to learn water safety skills, build beach confidence and take part in surf sports. Under 6 and Under 7 'Greenies' have non-competitive fun and games; Under 8 to Under 12 combine wades, board paddling, swimming, beach sprints and beach flags; Under 13s work towards a Resuscitation Certificate and Under 14s towards the Surf Rescue Certificate. The 2026 season began with pool sessions at Smithfield Pool in April and May before moving to the beach. Children can book up to two Come n Try sessions with the club administrator; a stinger suit is required. Enrolment is through the SLSA Members Portal plus a Pool Proficiency Assessment.
