West Beach
Last updated October 2026
West Beach is the home beach of West Beach Surf Life Saving Club, whose volunteer patrolling members watch over beachgoers here. The City of Charles Sturt says the club's rebuilt $8.5 million clubhouse has a first aid room with ambulance access and a new patrol control room, and the upstairs West Beach Surf Club Bar & Bistro has ramps, a lift and large accessible bathrooms. Lifesavers patrol on weekends and public holidays from October to April (hours are not published), so swim between the red and yellow flags. Do not swim in discoloured water after rain. Dogs must be on a lead of 2 metres or less on the foreshore from 10am to 8pm during daylight saving, and may be off lead under effective control outside those times. Within a short walk are West Beach Surf Life Saving Club (about 75 m), Bakers Edge (about 209 m) and Juiced Cafe (about 258 m).
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
