Free public garden at Lavender Bay, open every day, with picnic tables and steep bark-chip paths unsuited to prams.

Wendy's Secret Garden is a public garden created by Wendy Whiteley in the Lavender Bay Parklands, off Lavender Street, Lavender Bay. The website says it is always open and entry is free, and recommends visiting in daylight because of embankments, steps and no lighting. It suggests bringing a picnic to use the tables and chairs in the garden; there is no cafe on site. Small children's parties and family gatherings are welcome without booking unless exclusive use of an area is wanted. Paths are steep, uneven and mostly covered in bark chip, and pram, wheelchair and limited-mobility access extends only to the adjoining Clark Park. The nearest public toilet and water fountain are in Quibaree Park. Dogs are welcome. Street parking is limited and metered, and the site recommends public transport: it is a 5 to 10 minute walk from North Sydney or Milsons Point stations.
