Wangi Falls
Last updated October 2026
Wangi Falls in Litchfield National Park flows all year into a large, deep plunge pool, a short accessible walk on a paved path from the car park. NT Parks lists Wangi as a swimming area in the dry season only; swim only when the swimming area open sign is up, as saltwater crocodiles live in Top End fresh and salt water. The water becomes deep quickly and it is not safe to swim at the top of the falls. A 1.6 km return walk (Grade 3, moderate, steep in sections) climbs through monsoon forest to the escarpment. There is a large grassy picnic area, limited gas barbecues, toilets and Wangi Falls Cafe (about 50 m away). Interstate visitors need an NT Parks Visitor Pass ($10 adult, $5 child per day).
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
