Sydney's landmark performing arts centre with a year-round kids and families program and a daily one-hour guided tour of the building.

The Sydney Opera House on Bennelong Point stages more than 2000 shows a year, and its Kids & Families program runs shows, concerts and workshops for ages from babies and toddlers to teens. Programs listed for late 2026 include Kids Music Playtime in the Joan Sutherland Theatre foyer, The Very Cranky Bear in the Playhouse (15 to 23 December) and Storytime Ballet: Cinderella (17 December to 3 January). Families can also take the one-hour Sydney Opera House Tour, which runs daily and goes inside the building to hear its history. As of October 2026, pre-booked tour tickets are $30 for children 5 to 15, $50 for adults and $130 for a family of two adults and two children; under 5s are free, and prices rise slightly on the day and from 1 April 2027. The tour involves walking up to 2.5 km and around 300 stairs with no lift, so it is not suitable for prams or wheelchairs; a step-free Mobility Access Tour runs daily instead. Tours are not available on 25 and 31 December 2026.
