Surf school at Middleton and Moana beaches with Surf Groms lessons for ages 5-12 and group lessons from $65 per person.

Surf & Sun is a Surfing Australia licensed surf school running lessons mainly at Middleton and Moana beaches on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Surf Groms is its program for children aged 5 to 12: 2-hour lessons over three or more days, run on weekends in school term and on weekdays in the school holidays, with a log book and levels. As of October 2026 Surf Groms costs between $120 and $200 per person depending on length, plus a $25 Surfing Australia fee. Two-hour group lessons run daily at Middleton and Moana for $65 per person; the minimum age is 7, and a parent must be in the water with children under 9. Lessons include a soft surfboard, full-length wetsuit, rash top and sunscreen, and coaches hold surf rescue and first aid qualifications. Book online or call 1800 786 386.
