Free national parks recreation park in Flagstaff Hill with walking and mountain bike trails along the Sturt River, open daily.

Sturt Gorge Recreation Park is a National Parks and Wildlife Service SA park about 13km south of Adelaide. Families can walk among steep slopes and shrubland, look for native animals at waterholes along the Sturt River, and see the sturt tillite rock formation. The Craigburn Farm section has a network of mountain bike and walking trails. Entry is free and the park is open daily, but it is closed on days of Catastrophic Fire Danger and may close on Extreme Fire Danger days. Entry is on foot from points including Broadmeadow Drive, Black Road and Bonneyview Road in Flagstaff Hill, The Boulevard in Bellevue Heights and Craigburn Road at Craigburn Farm. There are no facilities, so bring enough water and food. Dogs are allowed on a lead no longer than two metres, and there are no bins. A trail map is on the park's page.
