Stokes Hill Wharf Fishing Platform
Last updated October 2026
Land-based fishing at Stokes Hill Wharf on Darwin Harbour is popular year-round. A dedicated fishing platform halfway along the wharf viaduct lets all ages fish over 15 artificial reefs submerged in front of it, and the areas around the main wharf car park can produce queenfish, trevally or tuna in ideal conditions. The platform is open 24 hours with lighting, wash-down sinks and rubbish disposal. It is a working wharf: stay behind the yellow line at the edge and keep clear of machinery. Up to 3 hours' free parking is available on the wharf. Food nearby includes the Wharf Precinct Food Court (about 150 m) and Kim's Fish n Chips (about 155 m); toilets are about 120 m away.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
