Volunteers from Secret Harbour Surf Life Saving Club patrol on weekends and public holidays from 8:30am to 1pm in summer, and lifeguards cover weekdays from 6am to 11am. The City calls it a patrolled beach popular with local surfers and families, with ample parking, the Surfing Lizard Cafe and the nearby Octopus Playground. Swim between the flags, and if you are unsure of your ability, do not swim alone. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): Surfing Lizard (cafe, about 100 m).
