Pottery Penny is a pottery and ceramics studio at 5 Burreel Avenue, Elsternwick, established in 2004 in a garden setting. It runs children's pottery classes in handbuilding and wheel-throwing, with all materials and firings included. As of October 2026, term classes run on Mondays 5pm to 6.30pm, Wednesdays 4.45pm to 6.15pm (wheel only) and Sundays 10.30am to 12pm. An 8-week term costs $500 for handbuilding or $545 for wheel-throwing, with shorter terms priced pro rata and a 10% discount for paying a full term upfront. Casual children's wheel-throwing is $125 for two 90-minute sessions (one making, one glazing). School holiday sessions run for 90 minutes and cost $65 for handbuilding or $80 for wheel work. All bookings and payments are made by phone on 0413 170 498. The studio has disabled access and is closed on Thursdays and Fridays.
