O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat sits in the Green Mountains section of World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, 110km south of Brisbane, at the end of Lamington National Park Road from Canungra. Day visitors can explore for free: the Tree Top Walk is a 180-metre suspension bridge about 15 metres above the rainforest floor, with a ladder up a strangler fig, and it is free with no booking needed. Other free options are rainforest walks, lookouts, the Centenary exhibitions, a managed bird-feeding area (birdseed via the O'Reilly's app) and Billy Tea and Damper on weekends. Paid activities include the Birds of Prey Show (adult $20) and Flying Fox Adventure (adult $35), and the Eco Rangers school holiday program for children aged 5 to 12. The national park's Green Mountains day-use area has free barbecues, picnic tables, toilets, an information centre and a 900m wheelchair-accessible Centenary track. Parking is free.
