Mentone Beach

Last updated October 2026

Mentone Beach is the northern starting point of the long curved coast that stretches from Ricketts Point around what was known as Beaumaris Bay. Mentone Life Saving Club volunteers patrol Mentone Beach from November until Easter each year. The council lists a surf club with shower and toilets, a playground, car parks, picnic tables and seating, and the Bay Trail. The beach also contains one of Melbourne's most popular 24-hour dog beaches, and the nearby Dixon Street car park has an accessible shower, change room, baby change and toilets. Nearby (OpenStreetMap): Joe's of Mentone (about 104 m) and Chain of Fools (about 132 m).
