Maroondah Reservoir Park
Last updated October 2026
Gardens and forest below the 41-metre Maroondah dam wall near Healesville, built 1920-1927. Walk to the base of the wall, climb the rose-lined Rose Stairway (or take the circular track to avoid the stairs) and cross the top for views over the reservoir. The gardens have native eucalypts and exotic trees with autumn colour, six rotundas, a shelter, six gas and electric barbecues and picnic tables, with open grass to play on. Easy and moderate walks include the short Maroondah Forest Track. When the dam overflows (once or twice a year) the spillway becomes a waterfall, seen from the Falls Lookout. Gates open 8am and close between 5pm and 8pm depending on the season; enter from McKenzie Avenue.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
