Maritime Museum Tasmania is in the Carnegie Building at 16 Argyle Street, Hobart, opposite Constitution Dock. Exhibits cover exploration, shipbuilding and Tasmania's connection to the sea, including shipwreck remains and a life-size naval ship's cabin. The museum also manages historic vessels and The Semaphore Cottage in Princes Park, Battery Point. It is open 9am to 5pm every day except Christmas Day, and the museum suggests allowing at least 45 minutes. As of October 2026, children 12 and under enter free with an adult; adults pay $16, students $6 and families $32. All public areas are wheelchair accessible, with ramp access and a lift to the first-floor gallery, and there is an accessible bathroom in the foyer. There is no cafe on site. Parking is in metered waterfront spaces or the Argyle Street car park.
