Little Bay Beach

Last updated October 2026

Little Bay Beach is a small beach that Randwick Council describes as well protected from large coastal swells and popular with families for swimming and snorkelling. The rock ledges to the north and south are sometimes dangerous fishing spots. Access is down a steep timber staircase (widened in 2023), with public toilets and change rooms about halfway down and a café in the Prince Henry Centre near the top. Randwick City Lifeguards patrol the beach from 9am to 5pm in summer; at other times it is unpatrolled. Council notes that pieces of asbestos-containing material have been found at the beach since 2020; a health risk assessment found the risk very low and the beach stays open with regular inspections. Dogs, alcohol and glass are not permitted.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
