Horseshoe Bay
Last updated October 2026
Alexandrina Council calls Horseshoe Bay at Port Elliot a haven for swimmers, with Port Elliot Surf Life Saving Club just west of the reserve. The club's volunteer surf lifesavers are on patrol every Saturday, Sunday and SA public holiday through the summer months (this season until Easter 2027), with longer hours in hot weather. Swim between the flags when they are up. The Horseshoe Bay Reserve has a new playground for young children, beach shelters with seating, a beach access platform with showers, a barbecue, a drinking fountain, disabled ramp access from the car park, disabled toilets and a café, with the jetty and more toilets close by. Within a short walk are Flying Fish Cafe (about 73 m), Saigon Memories (about 282 m), The Retro Vibe (about 287 m) and Hotel Elliot (about 367 m), with more cafés, restaurants and shops nearby.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
