Florence Falls

Last updated October 2026

Florence Falls in Litchfield National Park flows year round and is most spectacular in the wet season and start of the dry. Two paths lead to the large plunge pool: 160 steps, or a 1 km monsoon walk along an uneven cobble path with some steps. NT Parks lists Florence Falls as a swimming area all year except during extreme flooding, but only swim when the swimming area open sign is up; saltwater crocodiles live in Top End fresh and salt water, and swimming can become unsafe due to crocodiles and rising water. Supervise children at all times. There is a lookout, picnic area, toilets and showers. Interstate visitors need an NT Parks Visitor Pass ($10 adult, $5 child per day); NT residents are exempt.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
