Echo Point lookout (Three Sisters)

Families' Pick 2026 · Sydney: picked by the Funtivities team as a standout for families in Sydney.

Last updated October 2026

Free Blue Mountains lookout in Katoomba with step-free views of the Three Sisters and the Jamison Valley, plus short walks nearby.

Echo Point lookout in Katoomba looks out over the Jamison Valley to the Three Sisters, three sandstone peaks in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, with views to the Ruined Castle and Mount Solitary. It is run by Blue Mountains City Council on the edge of Blue Mountains National Park, and the Three Sisters stand on Gundungurra and Darug land in a declared Aboriginal Place. The lookout is free to visit and the area is always open, though spots can close for maintenance, bad weather or fire danger. The top platform is wide, flat and step-free, with gently sloping concrete paths to the lower lookout, benches, drinking water and accessible flush toilets. Families with older kids can take the short Three Sisters walk or follow the Prince Henry Cliff walk towards Leura. The council's visitor centre at Echo Point is open daily 9am to 4pm, closed Christmas Day. Parking is in a paid, time-limited car park that can fill up on weekends. Pets and drones are not allowed.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
