Early Start Discovery Space is a children's museum at Building 21, University of Wollongong, Northfields Avenue, designed for children from birth to 10 years and their adults to play together. Experiences include a Construction Zone with safety gear and real tools, The Pod, a Discovery Garden with water play and a cargo net, a doll nursery, the CreARTivity art space, an emergency services role-play area and an Antarctic research vessel. During NSW school terms it opens weekdays 9am to 1pm and weekends 9am to 3:30pm, and during school holidays daily 9am to 3:30pm, with some public holiday closures. As of October 2026 general entry is $20 for adults and $20 for children, and under 12 months free. Booking online is recommended; walk-ins depend on capacity and payment is contactless only. It is fully accessible for prams, with lockers, pram parking, a parents' room and an independent café.
