Last updated October 2026
A 2.2 km Class 2 (easy) coastal loop in the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park at Cape Peron, Rockingham, about 45 minutes' drive south of Perth, taking under an hour. The path is mostly paved and fairly flat, with some steps and short slopes, and passes limestone headlands, sheltered bays, World War II military remains and skywalk lookouts over Shoalwater Bay and Penguin Island; dolphins or sea lions are sometimes seen offshore. There is a lookout seat at Point John for a picnic. Start at Cape Peron Car Park East at the end of Point Peron Road. There are no public toilets on the trail (the nearest are at the Point Peron boat ramp). Dogs on lead. Free.
