Free wetland park in Herdsman, Perth, with a lake loop path, bird watching, a playground area at Glendalough and picnic spots.

Herdsman Lake Regional Park is a wetland park in Perth's suburbs managed by the WA Parks and Wildlife Service (DBCA). Families can walk or cycle the shared path around the lake, either the full 7 km loop or part of it, picnic, and watch waterbirds; more than 100 bird species have been recorded. Popeye Lake has a floating jetty with an observation deck, and the Glendalough area has grassed areas, parking, playground equipment, benches and two gazebos. The heritage-listed Herdsman Lake Settlers Cottage and the Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre are also in the park. Entry is free. Boats, kayaks, paddle boards and fishing are not allowed on the lake. Dogs are permitted on a leash except at the Discovery Centre. Nature Play WA has a free scavenger-hunt play trail for the park in its Play Trails app. The park office (Regional Parks) is on 9442 0300.
