Community hockey club in Altona with junior teams from Under 8s to Under 18s and a Hookin2Hockey starter program for ages 5-12 ($70).

Altona Hockey Club is a family hockey club in Melbourne's western suburbs with more than 30 teams, from juniors through to Victorian Premier League sides. Junior teams in 2026 run from Under 8s to Under 18s, with boys' and girls' teams, and weekday after-school training (for example U8s and U10s on Tuesdays 5.15-6.15pm). Juniors in the U12s, U14s and U16s also get a free club-funded development program on Monday evenings. New players aged 5 to 12 can start with Hookin2Hockey, Hockey Australia's introductory program: seven skill-based sessions, including a free come-and-try night, for $70 covering coaching and insurance. Runners, a drink bottle and a mouthguard are suggested. All players must register with Hockey Victoria through Revolutionise Sport, and new junior players can enquire through the club's contact form. The club is on Sugar Gum Drive, Altona. Fees are as of October 2026.
