Adelaide Central Market is an undercover produce market in the city with over 70 traders under one roof, between Gouger and Grote Streets. Families can wander the fruit, vegetable and food stalls, and the market runs a free audio tour. In school holidays it holds family activities; the spring 2026 program included free face painting for ages 2 and up, fruit-themed crafts for ages 3 to 12, a free kids cooking demonstration with OzHarvest, family storytime for ages 3 to 5 and free cooking demonstrations. Entry is free. As of October 2026 it is open Tuesday 7am to 5:30pm, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 5:30pm (Wednesday with a range of traders only), Friday 7am to 9pm and Saturday 7am to 3pm, and closed Sunday and Monday. There is a Parents Room with pram parking, a feeding chair and change table, accessible toilets, free wi-fi and a free wheelchair to borrow. The UPark car park above the market has over 1,000 spaces, with the first hour free during market hours (conditions apply).
