The Original Adelaide River Jumping Crocodile Cruises

Families' Pick 2026 · Darwin: picked by the Funtivities team as a standout for families in Darwin.

Last updated October 2026

One-hour Adelaide River cruises to see wild saltwater crocodiles jump, an hour from Darwin, with child fares and a kids-cruise-free offer.

The Original Adelaide River Jumping Crocodile Cruises has run one-hour cruises on the Adelaide River since 1985, about 60 minutes from Darwin, where wild saltwater crocodiles leap from the water during feeding displays while skippers give live commentary. The family-owned business says children are welcome and must be supervised; life jackets are on board. The Adelaide River Queen is an air-conditioned boat with croc-proof glass and an open upper deck, departing 1pm daily: as of October 2026 tickets are $65 for adults (14+), $50 for children 4-13 and free for 3 and under. The open-air Pathfinder boats cost $75 per passenger aged 1 and over, under 1 free; from 5 October 2026 to 31 March 2027 one child 13 or under cruises free with each full-paying adult on Pathfinder. Wet-season departures may be reduced, so book online or call to confirm times. On site are a cafe, gift shop, toilets, shaded seating, free parking and a playground. The Adelaide River Queen welcomes manual wheelchairs and prams.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
