The Bell Tower

Last updated October 2026

Glass bell tower on the Perth foreshore with historic Swan Bells, live bell ringing, bell chiming and river views from the observation deck.

The Bell Tower in Barrack Square on the Perth foreshore is home to the Swan Bells, including the historic bells of St Martin-in-the-Fields in London, gifted to Western Australia in 1988. Visitors explore five public levels with displays on bells and timekeeping, see the 6,500kg ANZAC Bell and Australia's oldest bell, and finish at the level 6 observation deck with views over the Swan River and the city. Volunteer ringers ring the bells every Thursday from 12pm to 1pm and Sunday from 10:30am to 11:30am, and the ANZAC Bell rings at midday. Ticket options include general entry and a bell chiming experience where visitors try chiming a bell and get a certificate; general entry is from $15 on its booking page as of October 2026. It is open 7 days, 10am to 4pm with last entry 3:45pm, may close early for private events, and is closed Good Friday and Christmas Day. The tower is designed for full access for visitors with physical disabilities. Elizabeth Quay station is about a 10-minute walk, and the free Blue CAT bus stops nearby.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
