Western Sydney zoo with 150+ species, a walk-through kangaroo area, aquarium and reptile house. Flat paths and free parking. Open daily 9am-5pm.

Sydney Zoo in Western Sydney, near Eastern Creek, is home to more than 150 species. Families can walk the African Boardwalk past savannah habitats, follow Primate Boulevard, see animals of south-east Asia, walk among kangaroos and wallabies in the open-range Australia habitat, and visit the Aquarium and the Reptile and Nocturnal House. Extras include animal encounters, Keeper for a Day programs in school holidays and a VR Hut. The zoo is open every day from 9am to 5pm. Day tickets start from $29 for children 3 to 15 and $59 for adults 16 and over, and children under 3 are free (as of October 2026). Prices change daily, so booking online with a set arrival time is recommended, though you can also buy at the gate if the zoo isn't full. The zoo is flat with wide paths and no stairs. Strollers can be hired for $15 plus a deposit, and noise-cancelling headphones are lent free with a deposit. Parking on site is free, and buses 729 and 723 run from Blacktown and Mount Druitt stations.
