City of Perth's oldest garden, at St Georges Terrace and Barrack Street, with kangaroo sculptures and Snugglepot and Cuddlepie statues.

Stirling Gardens, on the corner of St Georges Terrace and Barrack Street in the Perth CBD, is the oldest garden in the city, first used in the 1830s and officially opened as Perth's first botanical garden in 1845. The City of Perth describes meandering pathways, shade, lawns and a wide range of plants and trees. Sculptures include the large kangaroos on the northern boundary, May Gibbs' Gumnut Babies Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, the Boonji Spaceman and a mosaic water feature, and there is a large Moreton Bay fig tree. Facilities listed by the City are a drinking fountain and benches. The City's tourism site lists events held in the gardens during the year, including an ANZAC Day service, Opera in the Park and Carols by Candlelight. The gardens are not currently available for event bookings.
