Southport Golf Club, founded in 1924, is a members' golf club on Slatyer Avenue, Southport, with an 18-hole course, a driving range and a short game area. Its Junior Development Program runs alongside school terms with group sessions of 4 to 8 children, led by the club's PGA professionals. Levels are Beginner (ages 4-7, no experience needed), Level A (ages 4-7), Level B (ages 7-11), Cadets (ages 7-14, playing 9 then 18 holes) and a Junior Pennant Team for juniors with a Golf Australia handicap. Sessions run on Sundays, with some midweek classes. The FAQ lists the cost as $20 per session ($30 if you have two or more children). The club provides clubs and balls; children just need sneakers. As of October 2026 the clinics are full and families can join a waitlist via the website or [email protected]. Two-day holiday golf camps are normally offered in school holidays.
