Thornbury soccer club with Little Hercs Saturday sessions for ages 4-8 ($200 per term) and MiniRoos and junior teams.

Northcote City FC is a football (soccer) club based at the stadium at 281 Darebin Road, Thornbury. For young children it runs Little Hercs, a non-competitive introduction to football for boys and girls aged 4-8, played on the pitch at John Cain. Kids learn ball control, passing, shooting and dribbling through games. As of October 2026, the Term 4 Little Hercs program runs on Saturday mornings at 9am for 60 minutes, from 10 October to 12 December 2026. The fee is $200 plus a one-off $90 registration and uniform charge (a Puma kit for new players or a Puma hoodie for returning players). Shin guards and soccer boots are compulsory, and players bring a water bottle. The club is also taking expressions of interest for its 2027 MiniRoos, Community, Female Academy and All Abilities programs, and for its senior and BVYPL academies, where trials are by invitation.
