Matilda Bay Reserve
Last updated October 2026
Matilda Bay Reserve is a grassy, shady riverside reserve on the Swan River in Crawley with views to the city. Parks and Wildlife (DBCA) says the river here is sheltered, calm and good for a cooling swim in summer or a paddle. Free electric barbecues are provided, the Bayside Kitchen cafe sells meals and drinks, and accessible parking bays are along Hackett Drive and Australia II Drive. The Department of Health monitors river water quality here; avoid swimming for 3 days after heavy rain (more than 10 mm). No lifesaver patrols are listed.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
