Traditional Shotokan karate dojo in Hope Valley with a Tiger Cubs program for children under 8, plus cadet and adult classes.

JKA Adelaide is a traditional Shotokan karate dojo affiliated with the Japan Karate Association, led by Sensei David Rigby, at Shop 29 in the Drakes shopping complex, 1220 Grand Junction Road, Hope Valley. Its Tiger Cubs program is for children under 8; cubs are assessed at age 8 and move into Cadet classes, and adult classes are also offered. Tiger Cubs classes run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 4pm and Saturdays at 10am. Introductory trial classes can be booked through the website. For a trial, children wear comfortable activewear such as track pants or shorts and a T-shirt, and students train barefoot on mats; the dojo helps arrange a white karate uniform after joining. The dojo calendar lists gradings and seminars through the year. Prices are not published on the website.
