Hampton Bayside Bowls Club, on the corner of Fewster and Earlsfield Roads in Hampton, runs public barefoot bowls on the Margaret Radford Green next to a grassed barbecue area. Sessions are open to the public on Sundays from 4pm to 7pm, and a club member gives each group a quick tutorial. Children are welcome under strict adult supervision, and the club has smaller, softer rubber bowls for young children. You can bowl barefoot or in thongs, sneakers or socks, but not heels. As of October 2026, bowls hire is $25 per person or $140 per rink for up to 8 players, and the barbecue can be hired when booking. Bookings must be made before arriving because the program is run by volunteers. You may bring your own food to the picnic area, but not drinks, as the club is licensed. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, including the green.
