Fernside skate park is in Waterloo Park, on Elizabeth Street at the corner of McEvoy Street, Waterloo, and is run by the City of Sydney. The council describes it as a 920 square metre street-style skate plaza with blocks, ledges, banked ledges, manual pads, stairs, rails, a flat bar, a fly-out, a corner bank, a steep wall and a mini-ramp. A 1.5-metre half pipe has been added. The council says it suits every ability of skating, scooting and BMX riding. Waterloo Park also has a partially enclosed playground with a basketball practice area next to it, outdoor fitness equipment, a sports oval and public toilets. Dogs are allowed off-leash in the park, but not in the playground, oval, courts or skate park. The council page does not list a fee to use the skate park.
