Des Johns Swim is a family-owned swim school at Unit 2, 14-16 Ramly Drive, Burleigh Heads, with a 12.5m teaching pool heated to 33C year round and a viewing area for parents. Lessons are 30 minutes. Infants (Little Splashers) and toddlers (Little Kickers) swim with a parent in classes of four. Mini Stars, for ages 3 to 6, covers Swim Star levels 1-3 in classes of four, building water safety, floating, kicking and early freestyle and backstroke. Super Stars, for ages 6 and up, covers levels 4 and 5 with stroke technique, breaststroke, butterfly, dives and turns. New swimmers start with a free online or at-pool assessment, then enrol through the SimplyPortal app. Prices are not published on the website. The centre is open Monday 8am-6pm, Tuesday to Thursday 7.15am-6pm and Friday 8am-1pm, with free onsite parking and accessible amenities.
