Free heritage W-Class tram that loops central Melbourne with audio commentary, running about every 12 minutes from 9.30am to 5pm daily.

The City Circle is a free tram route that loops around central Melbourne on the city's heritage W-Class trams. An audio commentary points out landmarks along the way, and stops include Melbourne Museum, Parliament House, State Library Victoria, Docklands, Federation Square, SEA Life Melbourne Aquarium and the Princess Theatre. The route runs through Docklands, along La Trobe Street, Spring Street and Flinders Street. As of October 2026, Yarra Trams says trams run clockwise about every 12 minutes between 9.30am and 5pm every day, and services can be affected by events. The ride is free, so there is nothing to book: hop on at any City Circle stop. The route is not serviced by low-floor trams, though several stops in Docklands and on Flinders Street have level access. For trip planning, Transport Victoria's information line is 1800 800 007.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
