The Ultimate 3-Day Gold Coast Family Itinerary (From a Local Dad)
I live on the Gold Coast. Like, actually live here — not just visited on holiday and wrote a blog about it. I've been here for five years, I have two kids aged 3 and 6, and I've done pretty much everything this city has to offer with small humans in tow.
So when people ask me "what should we do on the Gold Coast with kids?" I don't give them the tourist brochure answer. I give them the real answer — the one that includes where to find free parking, which attractions are actually worth the money, and where to get a decent coffee while your kids lose their minds.
Here's our perfect 3-day Gold Coast family itinerary. Tested. Refined. Dad-approved.

Morning: Burleigh Heads Beach
Start your Gold Coast experience at Burleigh Heads, not Surfers Paradise. Trust me on this. Burleigh is where the locals go — the beach is beautiful, the surf is usually gentle, and the vibe is relaxed and family-friendly.
The northern end of Burleigh Beach (near the surf club) has calmer water that's great for little kids. There's also a playground right next to the beach and proper toilets and changerooms at the surf club.

Late Morning: Burleigh Heads National Park Walk
Once the kids get restless on the beach (usually after 2-3 hours), we do the Burleigh Heads oceanside walk. It's only about 30 minutes return and suitable for kids as young as 3. The track hugs the headland and the views are absolutely spectacular — you can often see dolphins, and in
