Wombat Waterhole Playground, Hazelwood Park

Last updated October 2026

Wombat Waterhole is the playground in Hazelwood Park, one of the City of Burnside's major reserves, on Davenport Road. Council lists two flying foxes, a climbing hill with a high slide and a wider lower slide, a nest swing, toddler and older-child swings, a roundabout, sound pipes, a balance beam, stand-on spinners, an old steamroller, a dinosaur dig sandpit with trays for sand and water play, and a fully fenced accessible Liberty swing. The playground is partially fenced with partial tree shade, and a path with pram ramps leads to it. The park has three BBQs, a creek bridge and paths to a duck pond that pushchair and wheelchair users can use. Within a short walk are IGA (supermarket, about 280 m), Leabrook Bakehouse and Patisserie (bakery, about 300 m) and Naaz (restaurant, about 380 m).

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
